.....KEEPSAKE PORTRAITS.....

KEEPSAKE PORTRAITS are personal works of fine art which uplift the spirit as they honor those we love and will remain a treasure to be enjoyed through time.

The journey begins when the artist and the client meet to discuss important details such as size, style, colors, clothing, mood and other important considerations.  A life drawing, notes, sketches and photographs taken during this meeting in a relaxed atmosphere, capturing the spirit as well as the likeness of the subject is desirable.

In circumstances where the subject is not available or the portrait is to be a gift, the selection of a quality photograph will provide the necessary information to produce a Beautiful KeepSake Portrait in  Rich Oils ...an Enduring Treasure...a Time Honored Work of Art.

The Style of Portrait   Formal or Informal will depend upon the Mood you want to create, the Personality of the Subject and the Message the Portrait will convey

Informal     The features are fully rendered - the clothing and background are executed in a more "Painterly" manner

Formal Classic also known as "Grisaille".    The image is fully rendered.  Multiple layers of paint and glazes are applied to the canvas to achieve the final result which is considered Photo Realism

Please allow from 2 to 4 weeks in advance of your desired finish date when choosing this technique as a longer period of time is required to complete the more complex Formal Classic"Old Masters Style"

*  All paintings are executed using the Finest Archival Paint on Gallery Wrapped Canvas suitable for hanging unframed if desired.   Keepsake Portraits when completed are unframed.
